Manga creator Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro made his debut in Japan’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 1996. He is best known for the 2001 series, A Tale of a Leader in the End of the Century Takeshi, for which he won the 46th Shogakukan Manga Award for children's manga. His current series, TORIKO, began serialization in Japan in 2008 and is published in North America by VIZ Media’s Shonen Jump imprint. The popular adventure has also spawned an anime series.
