Under Mao's Red Sun:China's Cultural Revolution on Film
For those of you interested in learning about China's Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution (1966-76) under Chairman Mao Zedong, Asia Society is presenting a series of five documentaries starting September 12th and running through October 18th. The films focus on the Red guards, the victims of persecution, artists, and ordinary citizens, all of whom were affected one way or another by this political, social and cultural cataclysm.
